Kawasaki Disease

When I first heard the name of the disease, it is such a strange name to me that I think it is more popular to be the motorcycle brand than fatal disease. Kawasaki disease, it is said that until right now the cause of the disease is unknown yet. It is most often occurred in children who are 2 years old. Even though, it is possible to occur in adult.

The symptom of the disease is not very specific. It is said that a child who had the disease will have fever about 38ÂșC for about 4 to 5 days. He/She will also have small red bumps at the whole or some parts of the body, similar to red bumps that you have when you have measles. The eyes will look red.

If that happen to your child, you better had her checked for Kawasaki disease first, since the side effect of the disease is very dangerous. Kawasaki disease can damage the artery of the heart causing heart disease. The heart disease may not appear at that instant, but since the damage had been done, it is possible that someday the heart disease appear suddenly.

So, if you are a parent who has a young children, you need to watch out for this disease.
